A tuner can turn off the limiter, but how to go about it? You shouldn't.

Yup, tuner won't eliminate it, but it'll raise it. I was able to raise mine to the max (I think 150MPH), I'll never get it to go that fast... it'll look like The Fast and The Furious with floor plates and whatever else flying off.

Why? Mines shut off, just dont go over the speed your tires are rated at, and if you have Z's keep it under 130 or your driveshaft will explode lol - the fact its a truck and you should not drive a brick that fast.. well, this is the internet and people will do what they want, but ultimately that goes without saying

The fastest I've had this truck was 115 and it was getting "hairy" to say the least. I think more than just a driveshaft will explode though, pretty sure the front diff would just come apart in the housing and scatter parts everywhere.

I had mine at 123mph.. it was floaty but its a heavy truck so its expected, the good news is they slow down fast haha. I have never heard of the front end coming apart at speed tho, only the drive shaft around 130

You're right. It IS a truck. How many Rams have Z-rated tires installed? Or even "s" or above? I see this as a high risk - low reward scenario. The engineers set the top speed where it is for a reason. As stated above, 115 getting "hairy". Sure you can remove/raise the limiter, install better tires, but then all you've done is move the failure point somewhere else. These trucks simply aren't made for high speeds.

Taking it to the track makes more sense, but that's not what we're talking about. For a 1/8 or 1/4 mile or even an autocross, is the limiter a factor?

I'm all about Darwinism, but not when it unnecessarily endangers others.

Well, I have some buddies in Germany and they say they can go 130mph with no problems. but when you read what they have to repair there after 50k miles- I would not think about here after 150k miles. First what goes out is hubs and transmission. also changing ball joints is no rare event there. but mostly replaced with high end parts, which last little bit longer.
The truck is built for the US and for how you can drive in the US. and if you want to drive fast- well- you need a car and a race track- or luck that no officer sees you.
yes you can take the limit off. the guy who pays is the guy who says.

I'd like to not find out... I was only speaking about the front diff because of the age of my truck, she's been a good girl to me, but I don't wanna push limits. I think the coil springs in the back on the new Ram's help at higher speeds vs. the leaf in mine. It's set up for overlanding not drag/track racing so I don't expect it to perform in that area.
