I bought an Interstate AGM H8 at Costco and brought it home only to find out it wouldn't fit. There weren't any spacers to remove but I didn't feel like returning it so after some work with the oscillating saw the H8 now fits! I probably wouldn't do it again and would stick with the stock size but it's possible.

my factory battery lasted 8yr so i put the same thing back in
The original battery on my 2000 Silverado was warrantied for 9 years. It died at 9 years exactly to the month. I replaced it with a 6 year battery from WM. It last 6 years to the months before it died. It appears we've been lucky.

I replaced the original batteries on my 2006 in 2019, I only did so because I had a bad cables to both batteries, so I had the shop replace the cables and batteries all at the same time just to be safe...

I just replaced the H7 in my 2017 RAM 2500 Power Wagon with an H8 from Walmart: EverStart Platinum AGM Battery H8

The 2017, as covered earlier in this thread, has the removable triangular wedge at the bottom of the battery tray -- necessary for fitting the H8 size battery. Aside from that and it being a tight fit, no issues dropping the new battery in and starting the truck up. No strange lights on the dash. Everything appears to be working normally.
