H9 bulbs

Hi everyone,

I know there are already a lot of threads on the H11 to H9 low beam bulb conversion (and I have read them all looking for this answer), but I'm wondering if there is anyone here that has done this conversion and have ran these bulbs for over 1 year, and driven longer that 4+ hours straight with the lows on?

I'm from northern BC and when we are in the middle of our winter, it gets dark at 4:30 pm and there will be times when I'm driving in the dark for 4+ hours.

Because of how much hotter these bulbs run I just wanted to look for any feedback before doing the swap...

Mine are a couple of years old and have driven for over 4+ hours on low beam several times.
I considered it one of my best upgrades - esp. for the $$

Mine are about a year old and have done a few dozen trips over 4 hours at night. I just grabbed the standard Philip's H9's off Ebay and have had no problems. If you swap out the lows do the high beam upgrade swap while you're in there.

Same here, been running mine for over 2 years now, with many trips over 4 hours, I run my lights when towing my camper. So far so good.

Good idea! What bulbs are currently in the highs and what bulb do you replace them with?

If I remember correctly stock highbeam was 9005 and the upgrade was to 9011. There are many videos on YouTube and all I used to trim the bulb tabs was a small pair of side cutters. Easiest and least expensive lighting upgrade ever.

Installed H9s in my 2015, its still out on the road with them.
