I am really not interested in changing the housing. I just want the best bulb I can buy for my low beams (H11). I swear I have watched every video on you tube, read every review I can find and I am no closer to buying new bulbs. My head hurts, lol!

Preferences: White light, see as far down road as possible.

I prefer answers from RAM owners.

Thanks, Rob

He’s referring to the h11 to h9 bulb swap. The h11 is 55 watts versus the h9 which is 65 watts. There is a minor modification that needs to be made to the bulb plug receptacle. The h9 burns a bit hotter so the bulb life will be shorter. But you will gain significant distance and brightness with this swap.

Yup. Thank you. Also I’m running sylvania zxe lamps and they are noticeably brighter and whiter. Not like the h9 swap brighter. Almost looking to do the h9 zxe lamps in my truck.

I was looking at the high performance bulbs like the ZXE and Philips crystal vision, but the bulb life is apparently substantially shorter. Even the h9 will likely have a much shorter life than the h11.

So I'm on the fence between the h9 swap and going to LED bulbs. Problem is the LED bulbs might be whiter, but I might not gain much in distance which is what I'm looking for. Seems there is no easy answer, and I'm not ready to drop hundreds on HIDs....

I put H11 LEDs in place of stock bulbs. Much brighter and haven't had anyone flash me yet. (Been 2 months). Did Hi-beams and Low beams. Hi are really bright.

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!

I’m not a fan of the leds. But that’s me. I was all over them for about a month till I drove through the fog and couldn’t see anything. Just remember your headlights aren’t on all the time so they will last for a while. As soon as my stock ZXEs burn I’ll swap to h9 zxes

What LED bulbs are you using and did you gain any distance with the low beams?

I don't think Sylvania makes an h9 ZXE? I think all that's out there in h9 is a basic halogen from Philips, Sylvania, maybe a couple others. I think PIAA makes a performance h9, but they are pricey and I don't think reviews are that good....

VLEDs. I got the 5000k. Don't care for the antiseptic look of 6000k temp lights. Didn't increase distance very much but they put out 3000 lumens vs stock 1700 lumens. Notbas bright as the HIDs in my '09 1500 but thise blinded everybody. Had to take them out. Don't like being a ****. I got both highs and lows and reverse lights for about $306. On sale before XMas.

No. H11 is for low beam only. High beam is a different bulb on my truck.

Sorry, just re-read what I wrote and yes, it is confusing. H11 for lows, 9005s for highs if I remember right.

Not 1st, 2nd or 3rd? No Trophy!
