Been reading a lot on the cluster swap and on the Alfa OBD. Just bought a premium cluster but paying $150+ to program it seems nuts. Has anyone figured out what's actually involved to reprogram and is there any other option?

I'm sure it's locked down and you have to be some sort of certified place to do it. If anyone could do it there would be a lot of fraud being committed by people easily rolling back their odometer.

So the answer to your question so far appears to be NO. I drove my truck till the miles matched but the hours were way off. I have a record of what they were on both clusters at the swap. I would like to fix it for no particular reason.
So driving along on a Vermont highway I saw the mileage approaching. I got off the highway and drove down a country lane till the miles matched. I pulled over next to a cow feeding station. Small one. Started to pop out the old cluster. Just then a bucket loader pulled in behind me raising his bucket over my truck.
I hopped out to try to explain this very unusual situation and he yelled that he needed to be right where I was. Dont know why. I didnt see any feed on his loader. Well I got the hell out of his way. Drove about 3/4 mile down the road and pulled into a farm yard. Plenty of room! I got going on the swap again, and guess who pulls in behind me AGAIN. He gets out and **** it, I wasnt moving till I was finished. I got to try to explain what the hell I was doing. He did not even begin to get it, but he did wander off muttering.
That was fun..
