I couldn't imagine spending that kind of coin and not ordering EXACTLY what you want. I got pretty lucky in 2014 and found one that had about 90% of my "must haves" so I went with it. My next truck will likely be a 3500 SRW with a 6.4 Hemi which is a pretty rare beast on lots.

I still remember this desperate salesman at a dealership when I was shopping back in 2014. I wanted a 6.4 Hemi, Big Horn/SLT/Outdoorsman level, CC, 4X4, 6.5' bed, silver or charcoal. Those were absolutes. Some other stuff I could be a bit flexible on. He comes rolling out in a white DRW 3500 Tradesman, Cummins, 8' bed and starts in with his hard sell routine!! WTF? Other than the fact that it's a Ram it had nothing I wanted. Dude was just a bottom feeder!

Nice job OP.... it will be worth the wait!

Very similar situation when I went to purchase our Durango. Except he was already pulling the paperwork for me to sign! I showed him another dealer in town had the exact Durango I wanted. I asked if he could get me that Durango for less than the other guy. He worked it up for me, lower price/lower payment & said he had the same Durango on his lot & handed me the paperwork to sign. I was like wait a minute I was just on your lot & did not see that unit. So he showed it to me & it was way different. Blacked out version, bunch of different options I didn't want, some I did want, it didn't have. I was like "this is not the Durango I want". He started in "yeah but this one is even better". I said we are done here & left. I mean do they actually get people by doing these tactics?

Unfortunately yes. Many people will take their word and start signing paperwork before verifying anything. These are the ones they hope for.

:shakehead: Years ago when I bought my Stratus I really squeezed the dealer to get the price down so I could afford it. About a week after I bought the car they called me back saying I needed to come back in to sign some paperwork. I said I have already signed everything. They said we figured your payments wrong & it's supposed to be a 6 years loan not 5. I was like bull$hit! We went back & forth for like 5 minutes, finally I said fine, give me my trade in back & you can have your car back. Well... well we can't do that, your trade in has already been sold. I said well we are done then! It's amazing the crap they try & pull!

I had this exact things happen to some friends when I/we were younger. A couple days after the deal they get a call and there was some "mistake". I think they prey on younger people that might not know better.
