She runs!!! it sat about 2 weeks while i was tearing it down, waiting on parts, and reassembling. Drained the oil and had a good amount of coolant that had settled to the bottom of the pan. Not sure if this was from the actual gasket leak or just coolant that spilled onto the block when tearing it apart. Went to Walmart and got some cheap SuperTech oil and filter and filled after the drain, ran it for about 10 minutes and then drained that off. Replaced with Mopar filter and Penzoil Ultra Platinum. Will drive around with that for about 500 miles and then do another oil/filter change.

No abnormal sounds or leaks though. It definitely has been burning off all of the spilled fluids from the changeout, but just took a 3hr ride from Raleigh to Charlotte and there is no more smells from the engine bay. So I'm hoping its all burnt off now.

Did do a decent flush and got the coolant pretty clear (with a hint of orange color still), but good enough. Did my last drain and added about 1.5 gallons of the Mopar coolant concentrate. Letting that mix up and will test it and fine tune over the next week.

I'm a few years late on this...but how did it turn out? I don't have an issue currently, but I'm looking to potentially replace the lifters and will probably do the head gasket at the same time. Cause why not.

On a hemi you're replacing the head gaskets anyways if you're replacing the cam and lifters. The heads have to come to remove the lifters.

Yeah you're right. I wanted to do the lifters, but will do the head gasket while I'm there, because I'll already be there. Gonna have to do all the bits and pieces all at the same time.

Just why are you changing the lifters with out changing the cam?

If you are going to do lifters, do the Camshaft at the same time!
Ask me how I know!!!

+1 for this and for wild ones comment.

I would honestly probably spring for a MDS delete as well, but I think I read somewhere where you'd have to reprogram one of the computers. Definitely would drop a new cam in.

I can't remember the brands but there seemed to be some good options, unless I just go OEM for cam and use aftermarket for lifters

Use MOPAR lifters! All the other just don't measure up! You WILL have a problem after a short time. The Mopar lifters are not that expensive and it is cheaper in the long run to just do the engine work once!

As Hagar states, avoid aftermarket lifters. If you don't want to tune, just stick new OEM parts in it. Does the truck have issues,as you haven't stated why you're changing the lifters
