Best way to check for leaks?
Also is it necessary to move the heater core hoses?

About 1/2" at the closet point.

I went ahead and moved them, it only took a minute. I also got the y pipe to stop leaking. So everything is installed, I am kind of surprised how quiet it is, but I like it, it's actually just right.

How did you stop the leak? How long did it take to install them?

Jba shortys. Stock y_pipe.

I guess I didn't have them tight enough. Once I fired it up and let it get hot, I went back and retightned everything. I installed a vararam, the mufflex kit, the headers, and the New tips. I spent about 12 hours to do everything. 2 or 3 of those was messing around with 2 bolts on the headers I was having a hard time getting too .

The headers are gonna take a little while to break in. They get louder over time.

You will know if you have a leak because you will hear "pffft pffft pffft" when the engine is cold and it will get quieter or go away when it's warm.

It would be good to unplug your battery for 2 hours after those mods... :favorites13:

Let us know how you like them after a while. I really want those headers. Haven't gotten them because I can't decide if the long tube ones are worth the extra cost and hassle for my mild build

I had the battery unhooked the whole time I was working on it.
I do not feel any incredible difference but it does seem to feel like she has some more torque and can definitely tell she is breathing better. I did it mostly for the sound and I am definitely happy with that, she sounds good now. It did sound louder this morning than what I remember from the test drive yesterday.

I am not looking forward to having to check the header bolts and make sure they are still tight in a week or two though...

I need to get a tune to get the most out of these mods, anyone in the dfw area with a tuner or a shop that will tune it?
