So I'm about to go get the bit and extension for aiming the headlights using the holes on the side under the hood. Is this the only way to aim the lights? Would like to avoid two trips to Lowe's since they close soon.

Exactly. Oh, and they are a PAIN to line up because you can't see if the bit is going in or not. It can be a PITA, but be patient and you'll get it. :)

I've already been cursing haha. I think I'll probably take it to the dealership tomorrow and have them do it real fast.

How I did mine, a lot of trial and error. I found a parking lot (like a target or Walmart) where I could park on level ground and aim them at a wall from 10-15' away and just level them out. I've had to go back and adjust about 4 to 5 times before I finally got them where I wanted them.

I'd try to avoid the dealer.... I know even a headlight aim can get expensive.

I happen to know a guy there so I usually get small stuff for free. The factory spare wouldn't come off for me so I took it to them and it took them 30 minutes to get it off...didn't get charged a dime. I've taken my Grand Cherokee in for a few small things as well and never paid anything.

I cant remember the size, but I'm thinking of opening up that hole to fit a socket in there, wouldn't be any extra fumbling like the t20

IMO

That would be sweet, and a lot easier than the t20. I'd like to find a way to raise it up to flush with the hole. I wonder if there is a way to create a permanent extension of some sort. I'm sure it would require taking the fender off and some welding too.

That would make pulling the light out a lot harder.

IMO

I started to realize that after saying it. After thinking about it longer I'd try to do a two piece that disconnects quickly when pulling the lights. You could make a fitting for the stock part and then an attachment that comes up flush with the hole that is removable before pulling them. It kind of would be like a permanent bit in the stock bolt and then a removable extension. Who knows? I'm no engineer haha.

7-8 mm works too if you don't have the torx. But I'd suggest getting a set since they are all over the truck.

Okay so there is a nut to adjust to aim them? Just need a socket extension to reach it?

I just ordered the OPT7 H11 low beams and the 9005 fogs :)

Can you tell me what bit/tools and what you do exactly to aim them?

I just ordered the OPT7 H11 low beams and the 9005 fogs :) I decided to wait on high beams because I may not ever use them if the lows/fogs and the custom DRL's I plan install are bright nuff...

I went to autozone specifically for a t-handle to adjust my lights.

Easy-peazy.
