I have 4300hids in my '12 sport, I had to drill a 1" hole in the light bulb access cap for the wires to run through, I'm sure you're all familiar. My Rf headlight has developed some moisture so I want to put the stock bulbs back in before I take it for warranty, anybody know where I can get one of these covers? The dealer says I have to buy a complete headlight.

You drilled a 1" hole in your headlight, are now having a moisture issue and want them to warranty it?

Why not figure out where your problem is coming from and fix it, as you're the one who drilled a hole in the working stock cap?

You kinda have to drill a hole in the screw on dust cap to pass the HID wires through...the HID kits I've seen have a grommet that is used but I still wasn't comfortable with it.
As far as drying them out....remove them and put them inside for a night. The drier air will usually dry them out in no time. When you put them baqck together use some silicone around that grommet and the wires running through it.

I saw this question come up here a few weeks ago too. I dunno what the outcome was but my suggestion was to hit some salvage yards and see if you can grab some off some busted headlights.

Your suppose to seal the hole after you make it. Otherwise you will always get moisture.

I can guarantee its not coming in the cap, the grommet has been siliconed in, and is well sealed, being a licensed tech, I'm pretty confident I can install light bulbs. Anyway, all the moisture is centered in the bottom left corner of the lens so it is more than likely the seal between the lens and the housing, Which is not an uncommon occurrence in any headlamp, and with 11k on the truck I would rather have it warrantied than fix it myself. I know how dealers work, I worked at an international truck dealer for years and I don't want to give them any reason to tell me it's not covered.
