Hey guys, I need some help.
I have a 2014 ram 1500. I had a high beam light bulb go out. I replaced both high beam and both low beams and well as the turn signal bulbs.
Afterwards, I didn’t have high beam on passanger side. I thought I may have had a bad plug on my harness so I cut harness on oassbger side and soldered my wires together. I messed up and crossed two wires up. When I turned Lights on they both came on with dim but no brights. I put driver side back together and didn’t have brights there either.

I double checked all my wiring and everything seems ok now... but I don’t have bright lights on either side.

Any ideas???

When you cut the wires was the battery connected? That leads me to think a fuse blew

Well that's the first thing I would check is your crossed wires.. it will say DRL high something like that.

Well, two things come to mind. One easy and cheap, one not.

You may have blown a fuse. The fuse list in the owners manual only lists #10 but looking at the wiring diagram for our truck (I have a '14 as well), the headlights are shown to run off of both #10 and #14. Both are big 40amp fuses and should be green if they are the factory ones.

The other possibility that comes to mind is that when the wires got crossed you blew the high beam drivers or relays in the TIPM. That's a very expensive repair for a new one and merely expensive for a salvage yard unit. Hopefully it's the fuse.

I there a way to check the TIPM To know for sure?
If that is the problem, if I found one on line is it a plug and play or does it require a dealer to program?

You would need to take a test meter (multimeter) to the various connection points and trace the circuits one step at a time to locate the problem. If you're not used to doing so, you might be better off taking it to a good mechanic.

Ok guys I picked up. TIPM from a salvage yard and it needed up being bad. I got a second one and installed it. When I started truck up I am still getting high beam bulb out.

Before replacing TIPM I alsi noticed I do not have right or left turn signals at headlights. I do at rear of truck as well as side mirrors.

Someone mentioned body control module could be bad. Has anyone seen this problem?
