What is the best thing to use on the headlights of my 2007 to polish them up and remove the scratches?

Any pics? A polisher with a cutting pad and compound is the ideal thing to use. You can also wet sand them before polishing if the damage is severe, but I try to avoid this. There are headlight polishing kits available just about everywhere that work well and include everything you need besides a polisher, but some have attachments for a drill.

Keep in mind that after polishing, you'll want apply some protection or they'll just get oxidized again. A sealant is good but a coating is better.

I used the 3M kit on my last truck, took about 30 minutes per side and they came out looking brand new. They had been so bad I was going to have to replace them.

My daughters used Jeep was so bad, we used 800-1500 sand paper to get them cleaned up.

I hear toothpaste works well :) start with a light polishing agent, then see what you get. just like detailing paint, you can always go heavier but it's more complicated when you've gone too heavy and now you have to correct your previous step(s).

I simply use a polisher on a low speed setting with a small dab of polish, makes for a quick fix, no scratches or haze.

of course you may need a harsher compound depending on how bad they are.

If it’s not deep I use the “once a year car polish” to clean them and remove light scratches. Orange bottle. Some elbow grease and a buffing pad as I’ve never had luck with a polisher. Ends up flinging the stuff everywhere

if it flings it, you've either got too much on the pad, or you've got the setting too high to start the process.

Yea I need to try with less most likely. I have a polisher set to about 900 rpm I think

I set my polisher at 1 (lowest possible setting), and have 5 drops of polish on my pad. the drops are about dime sized.

Should work for the OP, too, on his headlights.

Mines digital. No dial settings. The old one I had was a dial speed adjustment
