i have a 2015 ram 1500 big horn crew cab.

i got the adapters and projector lights with the switchbacks from jeremy at retroshop and recently purchased the morimoto led fogs, and the morimoto HID kit from
retroshop

hids are 5500k to match the fogs and the switchback on the turnsignals. after a few nights of driving i have some doubts. i was hoping to hear feedback...

the LED fogs dont seem very useful? they may light up the side of the road a little where the HIDS miss. is it possible i have to re-aim and lower these?

the HIDs... pretty blue-ish for being “pure white” but i guess ill get use to the color tint, but does anyone else have these and can confirm they dont seem as bright as you would think? dark roads they do lighten the way but i feel like its a darker bright if that makes sense... sort of like a LED street light, bright but once you get out of a certian area it dims? i feel like the factory bulbs brightened the street more in the projectors, maybe i need to aim these a little higher as well? i see alot of pictures on here and peoples hids throw light down the road crazy and they are bright...

please any troubleshooting would be great

I went with 6500K Morimotos from JJ and really like the output. They do have a bit of a bluish tinge to them but the light, to my eyes, is great.

My LED fogs are horizontal so output side to side is a bit better than the 1500 vertical arrangment. I don't know if they are adjustable but a quick check under the front of your truck should tell you whether or not they are.

Good luck.

If you just dropped them in the factory projectors they will not be as good as a true retrofit with a quality HID projector like the FXR or Mini DS2. The factory projectors have like a frost to them not a true clear lens and are kind of sub par to the aftermarket retrofit ones available. I have pulled two of them apart so have first hand knowledge of the factory projectors. I dont have any first hand experience with the XB fogs but you can aim them using the factory mounting bracket that is why they re-use those.

My truck came with Quads but upgraded to OEM projector housings and JJ Retroshpp adaptor harnesses.
I went about 8-9 months using halogen 9012 bulbs and it was an improvement over the quads. Bit the bullet and upgraded to 5500k HID bulbs. I felt those were like how you described yours. They were substantially brighter than halogen but not great in the rain or on wet roads. And they cast a bluish tint..especially on street signs... that I didn’t like. I just swapped out the bulbs to 4500k today. So we shall see how these perform.

side note: I also just installed dual color LED fog light bulbs. 5000k white or 3000k amber. Plug and play. Each time you cycle the fog switch it changes from white to amber and back to white. I don’t have high hopes that these last a long time as they have a fan on the back and behind the fogs are open to the elements. But if the amber works as well as they say they do in the rain than I will install dedicated amber pods to use during inclement weather and reinstall the white halogen fog bulbs.

I got them off amazon. Somebody on this forum posted about it once. I forget who and which thread. It was awhile ago. Like
I said, If I like the amber during bad weather than I will do a dedicated amber pod. But I am going to give these a shot.
