Hi, I was wanting to install a starlight in my headliner and to go about doing that I need to remove the headliner itself. I can’t find a good description of how to do it anywhere... Can anyone find one for me or help me out. Thanks! (I have a 2012 ram 1500 quad cab)

Sorry I mustn’t have been clear, I don’t need to necessarily take it out, I just need to know what needs to come off in order to drop it.(pillars etc.)

Several people have removed it without taking the windshield out.

Look through sound dampening threads. You will find the info there.

Look up jacks garage on youtube. Thats who i followed when i replaced mine with an all black one. No i did not have to remove windshield but it was kinda sketchy getting in without damaging. Just remove everything interior wise plus the weather stripping of whatever door you go in/out. Its been a while but i want to say the driver side rear door was the best option. Good luck and show us the final product.

You got any pics of the final product? Did you also swap any of the tan interior plastic to black?

Here are some pics of the final product, I was able to get away with just dropping the headliner and working on it inside the vehicle. I’m very happy with the way it turned out. It looks amazing at night and even during the day, the only way you could know that they’re there is during the day when the lights aren’t on because of the tiny holes in the headliner.

Check my thread. Lots of pics of the process just not the removal. I bent my board, but the shop I used to do the suede was able to put the board back in for me after I did the stars. I pulled it out of the passenger door, roughly lol. But it looks perfect. 900 lights.
