Hi All,

When my truck arrives in Australia, I'm going to need to replace the head unit (430N or 730N) with an after market one as none of the US Maps etc will work here. Its a 2011 2500 Longhorn.

Has anyone replaced one of these and got reversing cameras , steering wheel controls to work ?

Am thing either Pioneer or an Alpine unit.

Cheers,

Baff.

The camera should hook right up, and with the steering wheel controls wiring harness it should too. Everything should be able to hook up pretty simply.

i dont beleive that the camera will hook up directly to an aftermarket unit, from what i understand its not a normal composite connection.

for a full audio integration you will have to get a number of modules:
Pac-Audio.com Product Details | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future
inorder to get all the video signals to the new headunit

Pac-Audio.com Product Details | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future
to replace the radio and retain the amp and for a no cut installation

last you will have to integrate the steering wheel contols and the best i've used so far is the Axxess ASWC
Vehicle Fit Guide

you will also need a dash kit to the get the new haedunit to fit and close off all the gaps.
2007 Dodge Nitro / Jeep Wrangler / Chrysler Sebring

looks like alot of stuff but actually very easy and all plug and play directly to the vehicle harness's, i had no experience in audio installtion and yet have easily done 3 installtions on my own.

Thanks, will do some more reading. Might just be easier to get the Australian model of the same head unit... I just thought I'd upgrade it whilst its out.

I'm confused, why is this in the 2nd gen area, lol... but I installed a double din touch screen BOSS Audio in my 2nd, took some modding on the bezel, but I got it to work. Its really nice, working on a write up on it.

PAC should make any interface you need to be able to get everything hooked up how you want. I'm guessing
