Heated Mirror Hook-up

I have a 2015 1500 Outdoorsman. The dealer installed towing mirrors for me. I see that the mirrors have the symbol indicating that they are heated. Is it possible to put a switch on the dash and get this feature working?

You already have one its the rear defrost button. If you have the 8.4 radio its the button that looks just like the symbol on the mirror. If you have the 3.0 or 5.0 radio push in the dial on the far right and a little light will come on and off to turn them on and off.

Do trucks without the rear defroster have that button? I had to order it on mine so I don't know.

Yes mine has no rear defroster but has that button and I have a ST tradesman. I think heated mirrors is a standard option on all 13+ Ram trucks I could be wrong though. But I have never seen one yet that did not. And I have never seen an 13+ Ram Hvac controller that did not have the button.

The symbols on the mirror are just etched glass and will not turn on.

What turns on is the led on the control button.

No, that is just an etching on the glass I believe. I want to say they should feel warm to the touch after a few minutes however, unless it's freezing out.
