I was driving to work this morning and after I turned onto another road and got up to fourth gear, the truck just shut off. It didn't act weird before It shut off. My headlights, fog lights and dash lights stayed on. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to start it. After about 7 or 8 times trying to start it, it fired right back up and ran as if nothing happened. No check engine light or any light came on.

Any ideas? I really hope the fuel pump isn't trying to tell me something. Like " im about to take a ****, and im expensive to replace"

Maybe some type of sensor?

Im going to swing by the auto store and see if any codes are showing.

I hope it aint the pump. I didn't think of this at the time I was trying to start it again, but I should have listened to see if I could hear the fuel pump each time I turned the key back.

There wasn't any new codes. There was a stored code for the Cam or Crankshaft sensor or whatever. It still hasn't done it again. I will just wait and see if it does it again.

That is plexing. I would say to access your Crank Sensor (back of the engine at the bell housing joint on the pass side) and make sure it's nice and clean, the connector as well.

If it looses signal from this sensor, it'll kill the ignition.
Likewise the Oil Pressure and Cam sensor are all on this same 'loop'

The cam sensor is on the bottom of the distributor and is a bit more involved to get to. Depending on the # of miles, you might just get a reman'd distributor and poke it in.

Im going to erase the codes and keep an eye for new ones if it happens again.

I was going to install a Hughes plenum next spring and while back there, was gonna put new dist. in and do anything else while I have the intake off. I have driven the truck more today. Auto store, Picked up daughter from school, went to store and it is running great. Maybe just a small glitch?

Pretty much just waiting to see if it does it again.
