Typical stuff... in the middle of our vacation, road trip, clunking heard in the front end.

long story short... found out the top mounting bolt that holds the frond driver side caliper onto the hub is gone. It’s just... gone, haha.

Where can I find this bolt?? Do dealerships have these things in stock? Can I pick one up at a hardware store/Home Depot? If so what size?

any help Is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Nearby AutoZone or O'Reilly? They should have them. I know they have the guide pins. I broke one on mine a few weeks ago and they had them in stock. Only cost a few bucks. It's sure they'd have the mounting bolts as well.

Awesome, I’ll give it a shot thanks. Anyone know the bolt head size off hand? I’ll need a socket/wrench

Probably too late but pretty sure it's 21mm.
I can't believe it's just gone! Those things have loctite and are torqued to something crazy, specs are somewhere in this forum.
I hope you find the bolt in stock somewhere. In my neck of the woods I had to order the dang things from rockauto!
Good luck!

Happen to me while driving through a busy city. Heard a massive clunk while driving and stopping. Didn’t know what it was as I checked both front wheels, nothing seems out of place. Got it to a shop and just a few minutes they found the caliper bolt loose. Their other shop (next city over) who done the previous work, did not tighten the caliper bolt and it came loose. Glad it wasn’t lost like yours.

For the sake of swapping stories, same thing happened to me a year or so ago. I was driving to get lunch and had my wheel jerk to the right a couple times, then actually lock up when I stopped once. Made it to a stopping point. Didn't see anything weird. Drove back to work. Got to the gate to go on base and my wheel locked up again. Had to gas it pretty hard to move the truck while dragging the tire. Made it to the base auto shop and got it on a lift. Long story short the bottom caliper mounting bolt was gone so every time I pressed the brakes it would grab the rotor and swing back and grind against my wheel and had built up a burm/shaved piece of metal and that's what was locking my wheel up.
