Just got a 2017 1500 v6. The air is cool - Not Cold. As i am familiar with a/c work I went to connect my gauges and they would not. Seems they've changed refrigerants again. I am not familiar with R1234y. so I have a few questions:

With my older ram I was getting 34 degrees.
With my new ram it will not blow below 50 degrees, Is this normal?

What vent temp's are you seeing?

The 1234xy I find is junk. Mine kept leaking over the winter. I swapped lines to 134a and never had any more problems.

50F is as good as it gets with R1234yf. I’ve done a lot of A/C work on these trucks and around 50F is pretty normal when they’re operating correctly.

Thanks.
What do you mean swap lines?
The equipment is supposed to be interchangeable.

It's interchangeable ish. I had to do some filing and slight modification to make everything work. Took about an hour and a half to set it up for the 134a. That said no shop will refill you if they know you did that just a heads up.

This I think is my problem. It seems like just as summer comes ac quits.

It just blows hot air. I purchased AC gauges that sounds like it's not going to work on this truck :emotions122:

Brandon-w what parts do I need to fix this issue???

Yeah mine was the same. I got the suction (big line) from a 2010 ram filed it re sealed it and put it in. You could probly get a suction and return then put the 4 seasons diverter valve on the cooler that goes into the truck for a 2010 and then everything would pretty much bolt up minus filing the one line that goes into the compressor. All I replaced was the big line and then just dropped one 16oz can into it while it was not running and it worked perfect. If you want your gauges to work and hook up to the small pressure line you'd have to replace that I didn't bother because I don't have them fancy gauges. Lol I'd send some pics but my truck is 850 miles away rite now.
