I'm sure some of you have installed the Mopar-branded Putco side-view mirror covers. I just ordered a pair and am not happy with the way they fit.
On the inside edge (closest to the door), they leave about a 1/4-inch of the painted surface exposed and a small(ish) gap between the mirror and the cover.
Is this typical or did I somehow get a set of poorly-shaped covers?

If this is how they're supposed to fit, I'll definitely be returning them.

Thanks in advance.

These have an actual Mopar part number (1PUT0502) and the Mopar web site doesn't mention painted mirrors. Thanks for the Putco link. I saw those but didn't order them, specifically because it said they wouldn't fit.

Junk I just pulled the ones off that came with the truck. Huge gaps all the way around the mirror and required constant attention or they would start to corrode.

I appreciate the input, folks. I've been all over Putco's site and the Mopar site and it looks like nothing fits the painted mirrors with turn signals. Looks like I'll do without chrome covers.
Thanks again.

There are big horn trucks out there that come with chrome caps instead of painted or textured black so i know for a fact that you can find one that fits to repalce the colored inserts.

My Longhorn has them, too, so I know they have to be available.

I know they make chrome mirrors, as I see them all the time. I saw another post on here where a guy called his dealer trying to get chrome caps and they only want to sell the complete mirror.
I'm betting chrome heated mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signals aren't going to be cheap.
