Ok guys so I have a 2019 Ram 2500, base stereo with 6 speakers.

I swapped the door speakers for Pioneer 4 ohm 6x9 3 way speakers and added (2) 10" alpine subs powered by a mono amp.

So the only thing left is the 2 dash speakers... Obviously I have 8ohm speakers in there and all aftermarket is 4 ohm. I keep seeing people recommending bass blockers, or some say to use 4 ohm 10 watt resistors. Then others say nothing is needed.

So for my EXACT setup, what would you do?

Is there a 3.5" speaker that has the bass blockers or resistors already added? I would love something just plug and play lol.

I have a 2017 RAM with the factory base system. I replaced the front and rear 6x9's with Infinity's, added a 10" subwoofer, and run everything off the factory head unit with an Audio Control LC6I line out converter and Alpine 5 channel amp. I disconnected the 3.5" dash speakers

The base system if quite a bit different due to the onboard amps in the Alpine/HK's. That being said with my 15 Alpine; I upgraded the dash to Infinity's and it worked fine. I disconnected the center.

My 18 I gutted everything and did an active 3 way. The factory dash location, IMO, works very well with the Ram trucks. Generally I avoid glass reflections but it works to an advantage with the Rams.

I am not in the process of upgrading my HK to an active 3 way. Woofer/mids in factory locations with tweets in sails. Tweets in factory locations drags the stage down and introduces some rainbow effects.

We’re you guys able to fit the 6x9’s in the front doors? On crutch field it says they won’t fit. I have a 19 power wagon and I want to put some JBL 6x9s in.

Depends on the 6x9. They are all different depths.

Pioneer 6x9s fit.

Most 6x9 will fit the front doors, Crutchfield is full of ****. Best fit is Kenwood and Rockford and kicker, then the pioneers and alpine.

As for the dash, 3.5", you can get 8ohm is you look hard enough, but most are 4 ohm. Carful with JBL and infinity, they make alot of 3 and 3.5 ohm in that size. Some higher end even do 2 ohm like JL audio and Hertz for example.

None will come with 4 ohm resistors, you will need to buy the seperate to get your speaker back to 8ohm. At 6ohm or lower, they are very loud, especially calls over Bluetooth... It's ear piercing.

Bass blockers are capacitors, they won't effect the resistance (ohm rating), or the loudness, they just block the lower frequencies going to that little speaker that it's not designed to handle, allowing it to work better at producing highs at more volume.
