I am looking to get an exhaust to increase the sound of my truck. Looking for a deep growl with little to no drone. Also pull a trailer on occasion. Got a 2016 2500 with a 5.7 hemi. Should i be looking at just a muffler or a full catback? Was reading the magnaflow 18 was a good choice possibly? are these bolt on or do i need a shop to weld it on for me? TIA

I had a borla exhaust not loud enough mild growl paid like 700 bucks for mufler it's some racing thing. Then went with a flowmaster super 40 or 44 little drone but l like it better.

I still have the borla pm me if u interested or just get a flowmaster

I have the Carven Progressive. Love it. It's bolt on. Sounds amazing on cold starts. No drone on the highway. If you're just looking for more sound, like I was, muffler swap is the way to go.

Muffler swap is the way to go. I've had a bunch of mufflers on my truck. The ones with the least amount of drone and good sound (that I've had) are: dynomax 6" round, borla pro xs, flowmaster 50hd, magnaflow 24", solo performance mach 44. My. Current muffler is the dynomax and it's my favorite so far. Deep tone, not too loud, and no drone.

I put a borla catback on my 6.4 and like it a lot. Its kind of in the middle of the "loud scale" to me. When you get up in Rpms it can scream but once you get up to speed in overdrive you can hear it inside the truck. Idle is deep but not obnoxious. Its got the s type muffler. I went with this instead of a bolt on bullet type of muffler because I wanted to get rid of the ugly resonator and didn't want it too loud.

Buy J517's Borla, can't get better than that. Stainless steel and used so it'll still be good, and sound great. Win win.
