I just ordered aftermarket dash and door speakers. Does anyone know of a good video or link for the door speaker install?

I ordered Polk DXi350 for the dash, Polk DXi651s for the front doors and, Kicker 40CS6934 for the rear doors. Got it all from Crutchfield.

Yes...but how do you install the bass blockers that come with those Polk dash speakers? I ordered the same. Actually, I was looking at the exact same setup. Did you talk to Adam from Crutchfield cause he recommended that setup. Really though. I don't know how to install bass blockers...and we're going to need them.

Bass blockers are just a capacitor that you put in line with the positive terminal

For dash speakers I would use a 50 micro farad non polarized capacitor on the positive terminal side of the speaker.

Thanks guys...but I still don't know how to "install it in-line" with the positive terminal. It looks like a barrel with a piece of wire coming out of each end.

You just butt splice one end to the positive coming in and put the corresponding spade connector on the other end and hook it up. As for talking to anyone, no I didnt I have a fairly heavy background in car audio, and knew what to get that wouldn't break the bank; but would still sound great.

The speakers came in today. I got started as soon as the UPS man left. Everything went together nicely, and sounds ten times better. Sub install next.

Nice! How much all that run you? For now I'll probably be happy just adding a sub but eventually I may do a full speaker swap.

Thank you for posting up the info on the speakers. I just ordered all three pair from Crutchfield and am looking forward to getting them installed.

How/where do you plan to install a sub?

No problem bro! Im looking at getting a fox box that will fit under the rear seat. Ive got a Kicker solobaric L7 that will fit an an 800w Kenwood amp. If youre gonna keep the stock deck you need a line output converter. Pretty simple to hook up.

My speakers came in today (same setup as billybob12) and I installed them when I got home from work. Holy crap what a difference!!!!! I haven't fooled around with car audio in probably 25 years, it's amazing what $200 will get you these days!

I didn't install the capacitors on the dash speakers but it sounds like I should. I tossed them in the glove box for now, I'll get them installed when I have time. Do they need to be soldered?

It is quite a difference! You should definitely install the bass blockers. No you dont uave to solder them, I ended up cutting off the supplied spade and spliced it into the wiring adapter.
