I've got a 2020 RAM 1500 Classic Tradesman (regular cab) and I'm looking at replacing the mirrors with power folding mirrors. I've read a few threads on here and I think I have everything figured out. I also looked at the kit provided by Infotainment but the cost is pretty high.

Can someone confirm if I'm correct on the needed parts?

Parts list:
- Driver door switch - part number 68148895ab
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-front-door-switch-and-bezel-68148895ab
- Driver door module - part number 68225103AD
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-door-module-left-68225103ad
- Passenger door module - part number 68225102AD
https://parts.allmoparparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-door-module-right-68225102ad
- Driver mirror - K2 Motor RMV-RAM13HP-AT-FS-L
https://www.k2motor.com/2013-2019-dodge-ram-power-heated-side-mirror-driver-side-black/
- Passenger mirror - K2 Motor RMV-RAM13HP-AT-FS-R
https://www.k2motor.com/2013-2019-dodge-ram-power-heated-side-mirror-passenger-side-black/
- AlphaODB along with a security module bypass to enable settings

Does all this look correct?

Thanks in advance!

You also need OBDLink MX+ module.

Did you end up switching out the mirrors?

Not yet. I bought new ones and all the needed components but just haven't had time to get them swapped out (been too busy lately).

Gotcha...

I have a 2020 Larmie that didn't have folding mirrors and I bought some aftermarket ones to replace them and the bezel switch with the folding mirror button from Mopar. I was told that was all I needed. Do I have to do more? I saw you were replacing modules and all that jazz and messing with the OBD. I just started looking because mine didn't work after I installed them.

Yep, I think you'll need the modules that are inside the doors too in addition to using AlphaODB to enable the feature. Also, since you have a 2020, you can't just enable the feature using AlphaODB without installing a temporary security module bypass.

lol...man, I didn't think this through. I appreciate the help. You would think that a freaking Laramie would have everything you needed for power-folding mirrors! Thanks for the quick response. I will dig into those.

Also, regarding using AlphaODB and a security module bypass, I think a dealer can enable the feature if they are willing to do it so you then wouldn't need to do it yourself. I could be wrong on that though and I have no idea what they would charge if they are willing to do it.

But I'm pretty sure you definitely need the new modules in both doors.

gtchs - have you swapped out the mirrors yet? Are you able to give any insight into the steps you took?

Unfortunately, I haven't. Life got in the way and they are still sitting in the boxes. :-(

I'm in the same boat as gtchs. Lots of parts in boxes; no time to install.

Funny how life and other things get in the way and our relaxing, blood pressure lowering projects get put on the shelf.

Hey man I just bought myself some used ones comes with more than I asked for came with bsm and just wanted to see if just getting the OEM door panel module and getting the dealer to install the code in the truck would I have a functioning power folding mirrors? Or is there more pieces to the puzzle. They come with puddle lights and turn signal lights.

The list at the top, should do it

Then it has to be activated usually
The dealer can do it, if they like you, it could be Free, if they don't, it could be $60 or more

Or

You can buy the ALFA obd MX ? & download the software
doing that allows you to do many things that your dealership will charge for

Got you boss I’ve been wanting to do the Alfa OBD. (If the time comes when I’m installing this could you be of some assistance? Have you done this swap yourself? I’m coming from just heated foldaway mirrors and I’m installing a power fold, bsm, turn signal, puddle light mirrors.lol)

Next on the list-
•Door panel module
•Door control for mirrors
•And Alfa obd MX.
Would that complete my list right?

Another thing just to calm my second thoughts. I know Alfa obd is not harmful to the truck, but aslong I don’t mess with nothing else it should be fine right? I see alot of people use it for various things.

I can't assist you with the AlfaOBD2, but many others can

I ordered my 2016 after making lists of what the Ram would need to do my business & for pleasure driving long distances

The only thing that i would use the AlfaOBD2 for, would be for Day Time Driving Lights.
I took care of that with a Large Mouth Bottle Cap
