Regardless of vehicle and filter brand I have always hand tightened oil filters. Never an issue. Always wipe fresh oil on the gasket.

Don't get the E, they cheapened the PF48 when they replaced it with the PF48E. If you really want a GM part, get the PF48R, it's constructed much better, will withstand higher pressures. I use the PF 48R on my dry sump LS3.Just go over to Walmart and get a AC/Delco PF48E for under 5 bucks. Its a good OEM filter.
Tool? Hand tight?
You got a Pentastar you shouldn't be allowed to post on the HEMI forum. LOLOLOL just kidding.Hand tight only, unless you have girly hands

Yes, but I have other vehicles with regular oil filters, and every other vehicle I had my entire life had the regular filters.
But every time I read about you guys with the hemis whining about changing your oil filters I do LOL. In fact I'm going to do an oil change in a couple days and it'll take me about 20 minutes max. SO easy on a Pentastar...
I noticed that, even at Wal-Mart 5 quarts is $22.00.
I used the larger filter till I installed a relocation kit. Was the 20-820. I still have 2 unused. They fit all the trucks even though it says doesn’t fit them
It fits if you have the remote filter mount for it.So the 20-820 doesn't fit with the relocation kits?
The 20-820 fits stock too. I did it. Depends on availability but yes.I'd advise not getting hung up on RP 20-820 filter. The RP 20-500 is almost as big and is an exact fit. Or just go with Fram Ultra Synthetic XP 10060 and not worry about re-locating this. There's bigger fish to fry on these vehicles.
