Well by tour RAM Hemi in 2023 because in 2024 the new straight six with turbos will be you only choice. It's supposed a 3L . I won't be buying one no matter how fast it is or anything about it.

Well written and I appreciate it. If you don’t appreciate the Mopar hemi and the fact it revolutionized American racing for decades, than maybe you don’t deserve it and should buy another brand.

I think people are forgetting the best part of a hemi...the sound!
I have a Carven Competitor and when I floor it from a stop you would think that you were at a race track! It also hits 60 way too soon for my liking I want to hear more of that legendary engine!

I’ve had 5.7 and 6.4 hemi’s and haven’t had any issues. The 1500 5.7 with 3.92’s was very quick. My son just bought a base line Silverado with the 2.7T engine and he said it would blow the doors off the 2017 5.3 Silverado he traded in. Tow rating is close to 10k lbs, not bad.

I don't get it, it is a truck...not a race car. At 5000 lbs and having the nicest interior and body styling of any other truck, what more do you want. When that hemi fires up and rumbles down the street, that is the best scenario you could enjoy with a truck. Having 400 hp and exceptional good looks, i am quite happy with running my Ram as is and looking so good at the same time.

I don't think you'll see all electric trucks any time soon. I'm considering a plug-in hybrid for an everyday car, but I have zero desire to get an electric truck. Also, I agree about that hemi sound... sweet music.

no, to the best of my knowledge a 5.3 never came in a corvette, but a 5.5 DOES come in the upcoming zo6 vette. as far as "its a hemi" speak, not really. the newer hemis (since 2003) are not actually true hemis and have been called "semi-hemis" its a marketing thing that obviously works. look it up.. as far as wanting to know the 1/4 mile of a pickup truck, thats cool, but i dont think id ever use that in my buying decision unless it was a complete **** and i dont believe the 5.7 hemi is a ****. i try not to get involved in these discussions, but i slip here and there!

If you want quickness and speed do not buy a truck. If you want comfort and a versatile vehicle, Ram with Hemi is the way to go. You can tweak it without it being costly.

I recommend that you do not get caught up with hype. Remember, all vehicles will meet their end one way or another. Choose what you want out of truck and pay whatever price it will take to satisfy your yearning. Remember, all vehicles depreciate and you will never get back what you put into it.

fair point, but in the same article my point was also made (though i didnt read the whole thing yet). i never knew that pretty much all of them were "semi-hemi" but the articles i read werent recent, meaning i either didnt read the whole thing or the right one.

i think, as usual what i said may be being taken out of proportion. take it for what it is and nothing more: me saying "semi hemi" isnt a slight towards the engine itself nor did i coin the phrase. its more about the "its a hemi it should be fast" sort of thing... doesnt mean i dont like the engine and it being a "semi hemi" wasnt my idea. thank you

It is as close to technically possible for the best results regarding the hemispherical design limits, that the engineers had to contend with.

And yes...it is a hemi and has to be fast.lol. But there will always be a faster widget as technology advances.But put a turbo on a 6 cylinder and a turbo on a v8 and that 8 cylinder is still king.Imo almost any car equipped with a v8 looks better winning or losing than a 4 or 6cyl. commuter crapbox.lol

i get it, emissions. i knew that already. all my point was is it was clever of them to bring the hemi name back, as it obviously still holds weight today because they know (like anything) most people arent going to know the difference. they think back to the 60s and think "its a hemi, it better be fast, powerful etc) my father had the 5.7 in his challenger, i liked it, so once again im not knocking it. im just saying it how it is. if i wanted a new ram id be good with the 5.7 and think all of the newer trucks are at the very least adequate, probably even the NA v6s in most cases.

The hemi folks remember what was the winningest engine,the 426 hemi that nascar ever experienced.But yes,the newer ones are 345ci and larger but they are not the 426.But the modern hemi in larger cid outruns the old 426 street version anyway nowdays.So of course there are fans of all types of cars and engines.And that is okay.
