Still pondering a new truck purchase. I did an internet search and I don't think I have found much on bone stock 1/4 performance for the 5.7 Hemi 4x4 of for the 3.6 either.

Does anybody have 1/4 mile times for these machines? Does anyone know how they compare to the GM 5.3 and 2.7 turbos?

I have a 4.7 now and it is a stone.

Mine is bone stock except for a CAI and a Hemi fever 87 octane tune with 140,000 miles and runs a 14.1 quarter. For a 5000 lbs. brick, I forgot to add "Naturally aspirated" and not being blowed (turbocharged) or sucking a bottle (nitrous), I'm happy, don't care what the other brands run! Until they add twin turbo's to the Hemi what's to compare?

From talking to other people and researching, 2.7 F150 is pretty dang fast. Definitely faster than any stock RAM (besides $90k TRX). Not sure about GM, you mentioned. That 2.7 would be my choice if I were looking to upgrade.

What are ya doing?? Comparing it to a corvette 5.5??

Who’s going to be driving? That’s a huge factor in the 1/4 time?

man not me the 2.7 sounds like crap i’ll take a little slower ride to enjoy the sound of a v8. even the eco boost 3.5 sounds bad the other day a raptor went by and my wife said that’s a pretty truck but it sounds like a ricer lol

If you need 2 turbo's to beat a naturally aspirated V-8 why not just have a V-8 that sounds great and not worry about a turbo possibly going out? Naturally aspirated 4 and 6 cylinders are just that..... a 4 or 6 cylinder but if that is what you like it's ok with me.

both the 2.7 and 3.5 leave a hemi for dead. Ram needs to up their game in the power department.

I totally disagree. my buddy has a 3.5 and it sounds great. I live just down the street from a new raptor so it drives by all the time and it sounds good. If you want rig that sounds like crap you should hear my 2020 6.4 hemi...

Google 0 to 60 times for the truck you’re researching. I think Ford comes in the fastest. Get the one that makes you happy.

For long term reliability I’ll take naturally aspirated any day. I have a 3.5 eco in my fleet as well. My do everything hook my snowplow up chain up go to camp drag my tractor 10 miles down a forest road with no cell service….that goes to the 6.4 hemi. I have modern diesels as well. With emissions the way they are the only platforms we have left with any sort of reliability is the gas guzzling 8s. And soon we will not even have them…..sucks

I'd love to go that fast but I like my 100K in my pocket.

Just scratching my head how the 5.7 is the biggest and the slowest..and its a HEMI!
Well, it’s a 350 ci normally aspirated engine with 390 hp and 410 lbs of torque. It beats the Chevy 5.3. A few ticks slower than the 6.2. Not bad for an engine in its 19th year in production.

For the ones who wants to compare the V-6 twin turbo to the naturally aspirated Hemi V-8, Mopar came up with your answer. They put forced induction on their Hemi V-8 and put it in a truck that weighed near 1000 lbs more than the V-6 forced induction Ford and came up with the truck called the TRX. It wins hands down all the way around. So now we are back to the difference in a V-6 versus a V-8. You want to say the TRX cost more, I agree but HP cost money, always has and always will. I'm not going to spend the kind of money a TRX or a Raptor cost because it's not that important to me. I wish Mopar put a twin turbo on the 5.7 Hemi so we could compare apples to apples between the 3.5 v's 5.7 but they don't so I'll just have to be ok with my slightly slower V-8 which at least sounds 100 times better than any V-6. Take the turbos off the 3.5 and you have a 282 HP engine. For those of you that knock the Hemi knock on. It's been a legendary engine. Any thing you do to a V-6, if you do the exact same thing to a V-8 the V-8 is going come out on top. It doesn't look like we will have much longer to brag on any of our gas powered engines anyway. All we'll have is my electric motor is faster than your electric motor.....WHOOPTY FREAKIN DO!
