I would second this. My first truck was a '99 Ram 1500 Laramie SLT 4x4 with the 5.9L 360 Magnum. I bought it used around 2005 with about 30k miles, sold it in 2017 with about 132k miles. Clearcoat was starting to get patchy and it probably needed the seals redone but overall I'd had a couple of mechanics remark on how good the shape of the engine was. It's in the background in my avatar picture.Then he rambled on about that he wished Dodge had modernized the 360/5.9 engine for trucks and that the Hemi was never meant to be a truck engine....
I think if they had updated that, and done a good job of it, the Magnum could've gained at least as good of a reputation as the Hemi. Possibly better as a dedicated truck engine.
