Hemi tick?

I love the truck I just don't like the tick. I wish someone will post a vid that sounds the same . Does anyone have a lot of miles on a hemi that has ticked the whe time ?

The 345 5.7 HEMI engine uses hydraulic roller lifters.

What oil are you using?

It still has the factory oil in it

It's tough to tell, it does sound pretty normal for a truck that's at idle at full operating temperature.

How many miles do you have on the truck now?

At about 1,000 miles I'd change the oil and put either Mobil or Royal Purple in it. Make sure you buy a high quality filter too, like a Bosch or a Mobil. Whatever oil & filter combo you decide to use, stick with it!

The factory uses assembly grease and break-in fluids in a brand new engine and I never felt comfortable going a full oil change interval before changing my oil and filter.

Personally I've always used Mobil Super 5000 5W-20 and a Bosch filter.

like mentioned above it might be because of the oil...i never really noticed it on mine maybe because of my loud exhaust.
