do the fogs require a canbus type harness like jj sends with his headlight kits? I pulled my hid's out of my civic and put them in the fogs of my 13 sport since they are both the same. I only get flickers but they don't power up, they working out of the civic and straight into the fogs. I do have a regular relay harness that I will try tonight but was wondering if they need the canbus style harness?

Dat Cummins!
You definitely need the harness for the fogs, if you want them to function properly.

just a standard harness. the canbus stuff isn't needed (so the capacitor isnt needed).

pop that one in that you have, should be all set.

Yup, just normal harness will be fine. Al thought I've ran other cars fogs without harness and it was fine.

installed the harness today, they turn on full brightness like they are supposed to, only after a minute or so you can hear the relay start buzzing and can physically feal it making and losing contact you can also see the lights flicker, is this just likely a bad ground or some kind of 13 issue?

k so sanded down right to bare metal, no other grounds with it, put some dielectric grease on it, still did the same thing, swapped the relay with the one from my light bar as its the same size, did the same thing, hooked the ground right to the battery still the same outcome. any ideas? maybe this what I get for putting stuff on a dodge that doesn't come from jj lol, im going to him for the headlights but these I had so figured id throw them in the fogs and save a couple bucks on not having to buy new ones

relays buzz when they aren't getting full power.

so, its got a ground issue, or power supply is not cutting it.

by power supply do you meant the power going to the relay from battery or power coming from the original fog light as the trigger to activate the relay, as I mentioned without the harness the factory harness wont even turn on the hid's at all, just a little flicker every 10-15seconds

your 12v source to the relays / harness.

You get power directly from the battery with the harness?

ive tried everything as far as connections, even cut the terminals that were on it and put new ones, when the truck is not running and I turn lights on I get no issues at all, as soon as I start it the relay starts ticking within seconds, im starting to think its something to do with the input signal coming from the factory fog harness, the fact that there wasn't even enough juice to fire them up without the relay harness makes me wonder if its too low of voltage to keep a proper contact in the relay
