I've got a set of HID's in my headlights and fogs, and right now I'm waiting on a resistor harness for my bixenon kit in the headlights. Well ever since I've had the fogs put in, they won't stop flickering. It's not an on-off flicker, it's as if they're shaking in the housings. I've gotten a set of cancellers and a set of capacitors and neither one of them have fixed the damn flickering. I bought the kits from hidnation.com. Is it because they are a cheap kit that they do this or could they just be faulty and I need to return them for a new set? Or is my truck just ********?

Wait for it...

EDIT: Sorry man, just figured JJ (our HID and headlight GOD) was gonna chime in. He might be on later. I had a similar problem, but with buzzing when I turned on my radio. Problem is always ****** ballast construction, or improper wiring.

Like I said, JJ will chime in soon, and let you know what cha need.

If it does end up being crappy cheap ballasts, purchase a set from his, he uses Retro solutions, and they have excellent prices, customer service is something messes up eventually with one of them, and they're ballasts/HID's are top notch. Most of the guys on this site have at least 2 sets installed.

I figured it's because they were a cheap kit. I actually bought my capacitors from Retro-Solutions. Do those kits have any problems with flickering?

in the fogs? no.

Heads are tricky - but Retro-Solutions has awesome kits for those too!

Just remember, use coupon code "JJ" over there and you'll get 10% off eligible items. :D

Awesome, thanks for the code. I don't mean to keep pestering you with questions, but would 35W be more prone to flicker than 55W? I'm looking at the 55W Digital kits and they look damn near bulletproof.

I have heads and fogs from them, and never ad a problem, nor have I ever heard anyone else having a problem with they're products, just FYI.

Thanks for the info, man! Retro seems like the way to go.
