Ok guys so on my 2001 sport off road 4x4 i just bought some hide got them all hooked up everything is working perfectly. However maybe not perfect now after driving at night...i went for a drive tonight and i was on a real dark stretch of road so i activated my high beams and my low beam (hids) turned off...i can't remember if they did that before or not. i don't think thats normal is it? if its not does anyone know what the problem could be? i know its obviously opening the circuit to the low beams but I'm not sure as to why. I'm running a 55w 6000k ddm tuning kit with relay harness. any help would be great. thanks guys.

I had HIDs in my 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport and mine did the same thing. When I would activate my high beams my HIDS would go off, but when I would deactivate them, they would come back on and have to "warm up" again if I drove with the high beams on for too long. No big deal. Where did you get your HIDs from if you dont mind me asking, im getting ready to buy some this Friday coming up when I get paid. Take it easy man

Ddmtuning.com a lot of people frown upon them but I've had them in every car I've ever owned and never had problems so....but is it normal for the hids to go off when highs are engaged?

My guess is your low beams are brighter then your high beams now and dont have a cut off anymore so theres really no sense in using your high beams.
