I just bought a 2014 Ram R/T and it's awesome. What's the best way to get HID's for it? It has the projector lights. Do I have to get the conversion kit? Is there any way to avoid that? I'm still new to the forums, so I'm not that great at searching for stuff. Please help!! Thanks!

Retroshop is the only way to go. If you go the drop in kit route you will need a hid kit and a wire harness kit. The harness kit is always needed for all the 4th gen Ram's because of the canbus system.

Hid kit just not sure what bulb you have. No higher than 6000k color temp. I'd recommend 5000k for max light lumens. I think the harness kit comes with the hid kit.

I'm sure on his site there a pull down or a mention for you year truck.

I bought Canbus HID kits for my 13 with quad headlights....did highs, lows and fogs. The kits came with everything needed for them to work properly... bulb, ballast, lamp out warning canceller and the anti-flicker relay all in a nice plug and play set up.... bought them off eBay shipped to the house for $185. They're 55w 10,000k and they look great! Plenty of light.

My friends and I have bought numerous kits over the years from various manufacturers. IMHO they're all the same. I've had cheap eBay sets that have outlasted my buddies $2-3-400 dollar name brand sets and I've had kits that were nothing but problems.

I still go with the cheap sets. I try to find kits with good reviews and warranties. I set up my whole truck with lights cheaper than it would cost for just name brand, hi dollar lows and I couldn't be more happy with them!

OP - here's the direct link to the product you are after - 2013+ Dodge Ram HIDs

That will come with a set of ballasts, bulbs (9006/HIR2 for your application), and the full wiring harness. Hit me up if you have any questions!

Harnesses are definitely the best way to ensure proper power to the HIDs, while protecting the Ram's computer. ;)

4300 will yield a few more lumens, but will have a slight yellow tinge to it. 5K is my personal favorite (slightly less lumens, but the naked eye won't see the difference in 4300 vs 5K on lumens). 6K will have a tinge of blue to it. We don't sell anything over 6K, as the higher you go on the kelvin scale, the less usable output you will have.

Send an email to [email protected], he'll hook you up. Give him your vehicle info and he'll tell you what to get.

Sorry about the delay bud, out of nowhere the lovely 50W went flying off the shelves.......and the supplier had about 450 backorders! Stupid customs held a 25,000 pound shipment to them!

I have a buttload more heading my way now, and will be getting another load..........you know, holiday shopping is coming up! ;)

Is that the cheapest way to go? When I bought HID's for my old truck, the lows and the fogs were like $90 total. $165 just seams like a lot of money for HID's.

There is always a cheaper option. Our bulbs alone cost more than a full blow kit from eBay! The other kits typically do not include all the right stuff for your Ram either. Ours comes with it, its what we specialize in, its what we KNOW works on these trucks.

Bottom line, you'll get what you pay for. I answer questions on here daily about issues people have with their cheaper kits. In the end, its your cash bud - buy what you are comfortable with. Our kits are definitely not the cheapest kit on the market, nor do we try to be. I'd rather sell a product that I can stand behind over sell a LOT of (if it comes to that).

I have 55w h13 kit on my 12 ram express ( with harness )

For the fogs I just used a standard kit with no harness, seems to work great.

I remember reading that the fog harness isnt really necessary, should I grab one or just leave it be?

Everything works, thanks!

some work without it, some need it. I include it on all of my fogs, because........who wants to get them done, and they flicker? Nobody. ;)

I'll probably go with you guys. What's the total including the fogs too?

fogs are $135, so you'd be right at $300 out the door on a set for the lows and fogs.
