Im thinking about upgrading to a HID system but dont know enough about them so here are a few questions? Ive got a 2012 with dual not quad headlights. Does a HID system offer both high and low beam? Do they make a difference of how much you can see at night? I travel alot at dark in rural East Tenn and would like to see the deer a little better.

Thamks for any and all information.

there are a LOT of options for you, just depends on your needs. ;)

A drop in kit is available for your truck, in a bixenon setup - which would be low / high beams. It would come with a harness that you would need to screw down and plug in, no biggy there.

Or, if you are interested in the WIDEST beam you can get from your lights - look into a set of HID projectors for your truck. I do retrofitting of the stock lights, installing a HID projector in them and including a HID kit with it. You get an amazingly wide beam and the projectors focus the light where it is needed - keeping the glare out of oncoming driver's eyes, which can sometimes be an issue with a drop in HID kit.

Pricing? Expect to pay about 175ish for a good quality bixenon HID set, with the appropriate wiring and lifetime warranty.

Retro'd sets would start around $600, with new lights, HIDs, wiring, etc.

I carry them all! In fact, I'll be adding the HID kits to my website tonight, and changing a few things on my retro'd sets. ;)

check out my site, and let me know if I can help you see! RetroShop

I purchased my parts for a projector swap through JJ because I like doing things myself.

Buy a full set of projector headlights through JJ and save yourself a TON of work.
It's worth the $$. At least, in my opinion it is.

The aftermarket 'projector' headlights are not really a viable option in regards to light output. So, go ahead and cross them off any 'list'.

Drop in (Bi-Xenon) kits actually work pretty well in the Gen IV headlights. I think you might be pleasantly surprised with how well it works. The one impression I seem to get across the board is that the 'high' beam doesn't seem to work near as well.
