Buy an extra.... I lost mine by forgetting to put the pin in once (hope no one was right behind me :))

Overall, I hate the setup. My locking pin broken shortly after I got the truck and I believe it's due to the rattling and banging around that takes place with the setup. I don't know why they had to screw with such a well established thing.

They did it because the 2" receivers are only good to 10k or 12.5k, which is below the tow capacity for these trucks.

Because truck capacities now at exceeding the class 4 hitch so now they run 5 on everything so they don't have to have multiple Hitches everything is the same.... If you don't like the adapter buy new receivers with a 2.5.....

If you are going to run the sleeve, coat it with some chassis grease, prevents rust & seizing, plus no rattling!

I bought the adjustable hitch, but a 2"....the 2.5" was so much more money, could not justify the price increase.

I had to purchase a new hitch pin after 2 years, the slack in the receiver caused the pin to bend.

I fabbed a shim from a sheet of metal that I slide in with the adapter to take some of the side to side play out.

Shim it and put a ton of anti seize on it and put a few tack welds on it then you won't lose it and can just cut the tacks off if you want to go bigger.
