Horrible Fuel Economy

My 2024 Ram 1500 Limited 4x4 Crew Cab with the 5.7 L Hemi eTorque is only getting 13 mpg (just over 300 miles per tank). Its also very sluggish "off the line". The truck has 16k miles on it, total since brand new.

It came Stock with 3.21 gear ratio and 275/55R20 AS LLR tires. It was lifted (6" Ready Lift) and the wheels tires changed to 285/55R22 Toyo Open Country RT. The speed odometer has been calibrated to the new tire size

I'm thinking about changing gear ratio to improve fuel economy and overall performance. Not sure if this is the right decision and not sure if it would void my warranty. Any suggestions?

Same problem I had on a 2023 Hemi E torque Limited, 12 miles a gallon, my question to the dealer is why is it that it is a hybrid vehicle and the fuel milage is so low it should be going the other way, he said it is a bigger picture with a lot of math, the next week I went to another dealer and traded that **** in, didn't even do it in the dealer I got it from screw him he scrwed me with his stupid answer to my problem.

My 2024 ram 1500 warlock, non etorque hemi 5.7, 8 speed 3.92s at15k miles running 315 70 17 on a stock suspension, averages about 18 mpg on the freeway at 80 mpg and 16.5 around town, run 91 octane. That's me, the wife, the grandson and the dog. Total weight approx 650 lbs ( including suitcases and coolers)

Put a load in the bed, give it a headwind, or let it have to deal with the hills of eastern Montana, or western ND and 12 to 13 becomes the new normal if you leave it in D and allow the engine to use MDS. Drop it to 8 using the gear selector and it gets about 14.5.

Didn't buy it for fuel economy, and know if it drops below that I need to ease up on the skinny pedal.

This is 2025 should see more fuel mileage then we get, even with a 40 volt battery sitting on top of the motor with a stupid name, E-torque, that does zero to save you gas,that was for the government to get off their backs about carbon emissions. Ram is so Phony.

I don't have e torque and wouldn't own one with e torque.

I didn't buy it for fuel economy and don't care what it gets as mileage. I think for what it is, a full size 4 door truck with 4 wheel drive on 35s, it gets great fuel economy, does exactly what I want it to regardless.

If I want fuel economy, I have a 99 Honda accord with 176k that get 28mpg. It's cheap fuel efficient and perfect.

@chadgaspard My 2014 with 5.7 (no e-torque), with 8-speed and 3.21 rear is seeing 15.5 right now, all city grocery-getter, and running 91 octane Top Tier fuel.

I put in lots of " local" driving , potentially anywhere within a large metro area . As of this morning, my weekly reset of " trip B " is showing 15.5mpg . Depending on. The mix of relatively open , stoplight derby , and stop & go , it can vary from low 15's to high 16's over a work week .
( Mixing 93 into 87 , to get combined 89 or a little over . At least for now to establish my Baselines. )

I'd like to do a nice lift/level, all new suspension, all new wheels/tires, etc, but momma says the house needs a new driveway and all new windows on the 1st floor instead. And I know she's right, so...

The stock size tires LT 275 / 65 - 20 ,.are already big by normal standards . At least by my cumulative vehicles up to now . [ Not counting the '76 Peterbilt . ] . MY CJ is running 31's .

My truck does not have the LT tires, typically Load Range E?
Mine are P275/60-R20, I believe these are Load Range C, maybe 6-ply compared to 10-ply.

Running 6 PLY C rated on my RAM as not need the extra load E tires. I do not worry bout MPG, if U do, go buy a Prius and put RAM emblems on it, LMAO. My INANE sense of humor.

BACK TO OP: I have no E junkola on my RAM. I got almost 22 MPG on a trip with original SRA'S. Went to Falken Wildpeaks, and my MPG fell 1 1/2 mpg (heavier tires/more tread on road). Hey it is a truck, rolling brick, almost 6000 lbs. I get 13-17 in town and 20 on Hwy, like IH 35, as long as I stay under 70 mph. But on IH 35, normal speed 80 mph or more (traffic flow), so I go down to 17-18 at big Hwy speeds. HEY it is a truck. U wanna drive, U gotta pay...

I could go with the Hay Burner, but she not gonna go that far. I could use MC, which gets close to 30 mpg, but the Bike as equipped is over 2000 lbs. And I am
mostly a Fair Weather rider. Riding MC on IH 35 not for the Faint of Heart, they run you over.
