I get it if you are stationed there. You gotta go where they tell you. But in God's name why would anyone actually choose to live where Hell literally freezes over? I spent a winter at Great Lakes Naval Training center and discovered that there is a point where it no longer feels cold. It just feels hurt. -41 would certainly qualify as hurt.
Meh, it’s a dry cold!

Not from the Power Wagon but...I'll have to pay attention to mine this year. I don't have any pictures of the thermometer in brutal cold for some reason!
I have a picture of the highest I've seen it go though, just to make you feel extra cold. That's 124°F, I don't think it gets as cold here as Alaska but we'll see -40 or lower at least once a winter.
We get about a week of it every year, then rolling blackouts because it overburdens the power grid. Then everyone's water freezes.hokey smokes. Thats -36.4 F... Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! I dont remember being anywhere less than 25 below.
It got up to 74 down in south AL today but you have no idea about poison snakes. We have Cotton Mouths, Cooper Heads, Timber Rattlers, Diamond Backs, Ground Rattlers and Coral Snakes down here! I don’t go in the woods without my snake boots. We even have a dang festival down here for them. The Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo. A handler will hold the snake and let you pet one so come on down this spring! But the only thing worse than a snake is a stick that looks like a snake- thousands on thoseWe get about a week of it every year, then rolling blackouts because it overburdens the power grid. And then in about April when the ground starts to thaw the underground lines burst and flood our towns. It's so much fun living here but at least we have no dangerous snakes or spiders to deal with in summer!
