How long does a spark plug change take? Well we have one in my shop tat so far has taken over four hours. A customer decided it was time to pull his plugs on his ram after 250000 miles broke every one off. Left rusted in threads every where.

Oh my lord, no torch under the hood is ever good. For all that trouble would have been just as easy to yank the heads.

It was towed in guy said it was losing power. Plunges were just junk. I don't know how they lasted that long but a simple plug change cost him 500 dollars and the cost of a tow. It sucked but we got them out and I gave him a coupon for 25% off for his next plug change of course it's limited to a year lol

There are a lot of mechanical ignoramuses who buy vehicles they can't afford by leasing and do absolutley no maintenance for two or more years then turn them in.

Back in 98 - 00 Chrysler was having all sorts of problems with 5.2L engines owned by drivers who did not change their oil. Sludge would build up pretty quickly, block the oil pump suction and the engine would turn or wipe a main bearing. Driver would then take it in demanding warranty repair. When asked for proof of regular maintenance it immediately became obvious that the cause of the failure was neglect. It got ugly for awhile with Chrysler even questioning people who did their own oil changes if they couldn't provide receipts for the oil and filter when any engine experienced any mechanical failures. The forums and bulletin boards were full of complaints from people who wanted repair and couldn't prove the maintenance had been done (mostly because it hadn't been).

Funny thing about driving 25K miles on the original fill of dino. :badidea:

There are also a lot of narcissists who are too important or too busy to be without their vehicle while its maintained. :Pshyco::

If you can afford a new car you can afford a rental while it gets some TLC.

Plugman here is obvioulsy an ignoramous and probably a narcissist too.

To be honest thats not really that bad when you put into perspective
If that was a hemi, $80 give or take for 16 plugs every 30k miles, the guy would have spent over $600 in plugs over 250k miles plus what ever shop labor

You say stupid, I say frugal [/sarcasm]

Let's not forget about even worse gas mileage than stock over the same 220K miles.

I'm back to stupid. :boxed:
