Yeah when I search for the radio on car-part the options are telematics (uconnect access), no telematics Sirius and no telematics no Sirius,

That’s why I assumed it was the telematics one.

Like SitKneelBend said, junkyards mislabel and misidentify features all the time. Ram telematics is a fleet management service provided by Verizon connect. It has no bearing on Sirius or uconnect.

I don't see them labeled as "telematics", it just says "Unconnect". Is the below what you see?

I've seen it come up with telematics before.

I'm thinking if you select 2018 telematics will be an option.

I see what you mean. That's downright weird. :/ I'm pretty certain that the one you want is the "receiver, navigation, (AM-FM-Uconnect-Bluetooth-8.4" touchscreen, opt RA4), telematics (Uconnect Access)". That should get you an "all features" RA4/VP4.

I know you don't get Uconnect in Canada and there is a separate radio for trucks sold there, And I've read that you don't get satellite radio in Hawaii, but according to the Uconnect map, there is Uconnect coverage on HI. I assumed the no XM was handled by a software setting for HI. Given the proportionately small number of vehicles sold there I don't think it would be worth it for FCA to have separate hardware for them. Not sure where the No Uconnect/No Satellite Radio units would be sold. Of course, this is all assuming that the options on the site even exist and aren't just someone's mistake.

I just pulled the list on car-part for the no telematic/no satalite radios, then ran the VIN on one of them through the build sheet web site and it came up as a US truck, shipped to Minnesota with a "3C NAV", aka RA4/VP4 radio. So, take the listings with a grain of salt (or possibly a whole shaker full).

Thanks. Where is this build sheet website?

Direct swap from an RA3, yes. Sirius will require a phone call to transfer and Uconnect may or may not allow you to transfer or even activate service. You may have an easier time with Uconnect if your VIN already has their service.

Do I have to have the alpine system for the RA4 to work?

No, but it will work with an Alpine system or a base 6 speaker system.

I’m also assuming I can use Alfa to make sure any features selected on the radio that I don’t have are removed correct? Such as heated seats and what not?

Yes, but the radio will read from your truck after several power cycles and match your setup. The tool shouldn't be necessary...

is there any issues of just using a used cluster? does it cause mileage and ilde and drive hours conflicts with the bcm or pcm?
I just brought one and would like to plug up and test it before I pay to reset mileage and ilde and drive hours to match my truck I have now.
any advice on who can do this also?
I got a odbmx coming and going to order the bypass cable for my 18 truck neeed
and was going to get alfaobd software to use with it.
will this software do it?
thanks for input in advance

I think navrepair (infotainment) will do it for 90$ or so plus shipping. And no just plugging it in will not affect anything.

Also on a side note, don’t take this as gospel, but I heard that the dev over at Alfa is currently in the process of getting Alfa to set mileage.

Ok, that’s what I thought and I’m willing to bet a simple factory reset will quicken this process.

You can run the new cluster without issue. Mileage is stored in atleast 2 spots and it doesn't appear that they communicate with each other if they are different. Back when this mod started people would swap them in and go, or wait until the mileage matched if they could find one with close mileage. Shortly after people found a few companies that could change mileage and hours like navrepair and the instrument cluster store (I believe) and now infotainment. Right now the option to change engine and idle hour's is in alphaobd but can't change anything. The creator is working on a fix currently for it. He had told me that he is also working on adding the ability to change mileage also in the upcoming update.
