I think I may have solved my Sirius radio presets disappearing.

Cut to the chase: Save your seat memory position after installing the new radio and putting your Sirius presets.

I recall that in my old Durango, my wife somehow changed my radio stations and had her key tied to my seat memory one. Which when I pushed the memory one button, all my settings changed until I figured it out and rejoined my key and radio presets to seat memory one.

With this truck I use remote start 50% of the time and I didn’t track the random preset loss earlier based on remote start or push to start.

I think the key attached to the seat memory position which is tied to the radio presets was loading a default or previous radio owner’s presets.

Since I re-memorized the seat one position, everything is retaining with multiple push to start & remote starts.

If someone had a similar problem, please validate my hypothesis.

If I’m late to the party and I’m the last to know, my bad lol.

Edit: Simplified answer added

I ordered a new screen off Ebay, reasonably easy to change but geez that glue out of the old screens is sticky - gets everywhere, and hard to clean off you and anything else it gets on. Just have to make sure you get the right SL(03) screen not the older SL(01) or SL(02) ones. Here is an example:

yeah, I did the "clean" on mine last year, and about 3 months later in the Carolina sun, the screen picked up a dead column. Also, the snot is all down the front bezel. Made the trailer controller install much stickier than it should have been... Just had an SL03 screen come in Monday, (Due tomorrow), planning to probably do the rude thing to the truck (again) on Frid.... Well ****, it's supposed to rain the whole next week. I don't like working on the truck in the rain, as the wife has the only car spot in the garage, and we have one of those stupid "split" garage doors that barely let a crossover in, let alone a full size truck.

Just watch that antenna wire attached to the frame when you are pulling it apart, easy to damage it is so small. There is a good youtube video of the screen change process.

Thanks everyone for the information, it has been a huge help.

I have one quick question, I am looking to upgrade my 2016 Uconnect to the 4c for Apple car play.

What’s the difference between a 683 model and 684? Did I miss something on this thread.

I see some the initial post says to stay with a 683. However, some post people are saying they are using a 684 model. What am I missing?

Either is fine as long as it's a ram specfic number.less likely to give trouble.

I had done it, and when I did the screen last week, something in my head was like "Don't just rip the frame off the radio!" Did the swap, looks way better, but at the same time, the SL(03) screen seems a little "worse" for some reason. Might be it's reflective, and I had gotten used to the "goop-less" screen of the SL(01).

I've got a 2014 Ram Sport with the 8.4 Uconnect Alpine 9 speaker system Came out of Canada. Could somebody let me know which model number I would need to get in order to add Android Auto? I'm finding lots of used ones online, but not sure which would work for me. Seems to have varying numbers of inputs and such on the backs of them. Thank you very much.

Man, I just wish the prices would come down already. These radios are now going on 4-5 years old and still $1000+.
