HID'S will give you better light output than cubes. My 50" curved light bar matches my high beam HIDS for light output. Cubes wouldn't be so great

A good HID kit in a quality projector will have close to 3000 lumens output of focused light with a controlled cutoff
Most cubes are lucky for around 2,000 lumens

I had 55w HID and MH1 projectors on my last truck with a 30" LED bar, the LED bar only lit up the tree tops and pretty wide to the ditch

my Rigid cubes are just over 3000 lumens - each. Lumen rating is smoke and mirrors anyway. The quality of the optics are the important part, otherwise your just scattering light. I agree that HID's and projectors, done correctly, can be pretty impressive, but I get pissed off every time I get blinded by some ******* who's just dropped a cheap set of Ebay burner blue HID's in his truck (or car) improperly.

I'm going with 8000k low beams and a projector work my low beam and I have a 30 inch light bar so I'm really not worried about light output more just the look

I have dual output cubes in my fog light openings. high output is wired into my high beams.

As for them not being so great....

By not so great I meant compared to HID high beams. I'm sure the cubes do fine, but they aren't going to be as good as a 55W 6000K HID high beam set up in a reflector + projector headlamp. The light output is insane.

OP I've seen what you want to do on a chevy truck. It was a show truck for a mod shop. Looked pretty cool having the cube in there

While i do agree that hid output in hid projectors are awesome im assuming youve never seen the output of rigid's optics, my god theyre nuts, but for most bars i agree, i put mini d2s projectors with 35w5000k in my wifes tucson and they outlight my rams factory projectors with 50w 4300k with cheap ebay 20" led bar

That's why I sprung for the Rigid. I saw a side by side test (yes, in person) Rigid's vs. eBay Chinese lights, same size, same beam pattern, same lumen rating (lumens are smoke and mirrors in any case), and the Rigid's CRUSHED the Chinese lights. I can understand not wanting to spend the extra $$$, but I personally don't mind paying for quality.

I have 4 cubes, 2ea hi/low driving lights, and 2 ea. hyper spots, which I guarantee are brighter than HID's. I also don't blind oncoming traffic with this setup like most incorrectly installed HID kits do. If that's not enough, I also have 4 10" light bars (flood/spot amber and driving/hyperspot patterns) behind the grill. I can see quite well thank you.

Can you let me/us know what Rigid cubes you are using. Their site has many listed. Thanks.
