HP question.

How much difference do you feel in a newer Hemi at 390 hp compared to a 345 like mine ? Assuming similar gears and such.

I test drove a 2010 a few years back and it felt a little stronger than the 3rd gen. But it wasn't as big of a difference as I had expected.

My 2012 CC 4x4 with 3.55s and 305/55s, when new (bone stock) would pull on my 2007 QC 2wd with 3.92s and 275/60s, Superchips on hottest tune, KnN filter, and Flowmaster (at that time-Magnaflow now). It wasn't bad, but it wasn't too hard either lol. The older one "felt" quicker because of the lower gears I guess, but it actually wasn't. And certainly isn't now with mods on the 12 model. Older truck is more fun to drive bc it handles more like a car than the newer one. Rides like a train compared to it though. But fun is not always comfy....

I traded my 2003 in on my 2012, I thought my 2012 was chipped with aftermarket exhaust on the test drive. It was still just stock.
It's night and day....

When I traded my 2004 for the 2010, it was OBVIOUS... I test drove the new one, got back in the old one and I could just tell the new one was quicker... old one had 3.92's and the new one had 3.55's too... but you can definitely tell

All I can speak of is my 3rd gen 5.7 hemi. That thing was a freaking rocket in comparison to my 4.7 4th gen.

don't mean to highjack the thread but do you have a pic of your truck with the 305/55's?

Im going to go with this tire pretty soon and wanted to see how it looked.

messing around one day, I went light to light a few times with a friend of mine with his 08' Big Horn ( Intake + Single Magnaflow Exhaust + 3.92's ) vs my 13' Express ( Intake, Muffler Delete, 3.55's ) and I beat him all 3 times.

its just better tuning / technology basically. you should notice a difference.

Had an 08 RCSB with 3.92 and the stock 20's. Felt ok.

Now have 2011 RCSB with thE same 3.92s and stock 20's.

Initially, they felt similar. The 08 FELT quicker (off the line) as it also felt more truckish. Had a harder gas pedal push to it which messes with my head and made it feel quicker down low.

Up top the 11 all the way (even before mods). 11 has a softer pedal (which I didn't like at first, now its fine). Even when stock it launched pretty well just felt softer all around. more civilized, but also more capable. Brake pedal feels nicer. But I thought they both had excellent braking capabilities for trucks.

Power can be achieved with either HEMI, I mainly upgraded as im superficial, but the biggest reason was the ride. Night and day better with the 11. Plus, the interior is far nicer and the wheel has a better feel to it (fatter).

Liked that my 08 had a center storage / 3rd seat option. Never use it, but nice to have. Flip the seat up and you could reach the passenger door. The 11 has the center shift, which I feel I like MORE than the 3rd seat so it works for me. No wife or kids, so I don't need it.

I went initially to test drive and bag a truck to see if it was really any different than my 08. I didn't feel like spending coin for essentially the same truck. Glad I did though. I also felt bad about bagging the 11 when driving so I never really did, then I bought the damn thing! Had both trucks for awhile, was kinda cool (but pointless lol)

But, I miss the pop of the electric blue on the 08!! Had to throw stripes on my black 11 to make it stand out a little.

Tq gets you going if that's what your referring to. HP gives it to you on the upper end.

You can have 500 HP, but it won't mean as much if you only have 250 ft/tq. Lots of top end... but it'll take forever getting there.

The 4th Gen Hemi's in the trucks are rated for 395 hp and 405 ft/tq. The 5.7 cars are 10 to 20 hp less... but the same tq.

Gearing is a factor as well.
