I go to beach and need some place to hang my key. Any suggestions that don't require me to get on hands and knees but is generally out of site?

2015 1500 Full Cab

Thx!

I have mine under the drivers side bed lip in the back. The magnet holds it tight and you cannot hardly feel it. I can remove it without anyone really noticing. The other option I've tried is to lower the tailgate and put the box on the right side under the cable. Fits fine there as well.

I slip my keys in one of the tie down hook holes in the bed when I am out in the water. I usually am grabbing something out of the bed anyway, so nobody has any idea I slipped keys away. I just put a tonneau cover on, so I guess I'll just need to leave that open.

@jib88fer Good suggestion about bed lip. The only issue is that I want to have a hook that I hang key from, instead of a magnet hide a key box, since I will be using it frequently.

@MarshRam Thx. My issue is that I have valuables in bed (kites) so I need to keep tonneau locked.

I'm just curious, What city in Florida do you swim in ? Oh, btw do you enjoy a beach on a specific street?

Probably could make better suggestions if we had good pictures of your truck.

Jax Beach within a block of.the pier this Saturday. Should be away from the truck from.3:30 to 5:30. I'll save you the trouble and will just leave the keys in the ignition!

Don't put it under the hood like my boss did on his T-bird. I didn't have the heart to tell him where the hood release was(and I didn't like him well enough to tell him either.) :naughty::naughty:

I see a problem. If you leave the key in the ignition someone may steal it before I can come see it. After all I have to come all the way from New Jersey.

That crossed my mind, I couldn't take all the challenge out of it! Ok, now that we've hijacked the thread, I need to find a new hiding spot and post it here to make up for my misdeed. I don't really want to leave the tonneau open anyway, someone might steal it.

Hmmmmm, you have started a new thought process. I wonder what the market is for used covers. You say yours in pretty new huh. Any discolorations, tears and such?

I just got a flexsafe from Kickstarter for this reason and vacationing at resorts. I got the one with the motion sensor. Just got it in the mail and haven't used it yet, but like that we can stash our phones in there along with money.

Edit: I did test out the motion sensor, it's not as sensitive as I would expect, but will definitely go off if someone snatches it up and it sure is freaking loud.

To me, the hitch safe is like a billboard advertising there might be something of value in there and an invitation to a tire iron.

Yeah, I see that now. I was going by one I saw on a truck in a parking lot that didn't have any cover on it.

:boxed:There's always the smuggler hiding place. You might get used to it after a while.
