I see a problem. If you leave the key in the ignition someone may steal it before I can come see it. After all I have to come all the way from New Jersey.
If you live in Jersey you'll find one to steal right there!!

If you get one of those hide a key magnetic boxes you could just stick it to the front of the box inside the seal between the box and cab. Or in your shoe. Nobody ever checks down by the toes.

i kinda feel like this thread is only going to give thieves a check list of places to look where they may not have thought of already...

I slip my keys in one of the tie down hook holes in the bed when I am out in the water. I usually am grabbing something out of the bed anyway, so nobody has any idea I slipped keys away. I just put a tonneau cover on, so I guess I'll just need to leave that open.
You could always put it where the sun don't shine, always is with you and nobody will want to reach in and get it! LOL

I don't know if anyone has thought of this, but if you have key-less entry you'd better try your hiding spot to make sure the truck doesn't think someone just trying doors has the key and unlocks its self for them....

Ive always wanted to have something that would spit some white dust out of the vents, with an alarm triggering a voice response that simply says, "you have 20 minutes to live, better get to the hospital". And a camera inside so I can watch the reaction when I get back to my truck!

Funny right up until the lawyer of the doofus at the car wash who climbed in to vacuum calls to determine your personal worth for his lawsuit.

You obviously have more free time than I do. Either that or there is more unemployment where you live and competent people still work at your car wash of choice.

I work 50+ hours a week, go to the gym 6 days a week for lifting and cardio, then to BJJ class 2-4 days a week, fit my riding in to keep on pace for race season and be able to still be in the top 3 (usually,) have a 11 year old son full time who does football and basketball which me and the woman split transporting him to those, then have to help him with his homework after, a 6 year old who does taekwondo year round 3 times a week and competes in tournaments, i do all the cooking, i have to cook 2 dinners because the fam doesnt eat my "special" diet, weigh out 4 cooked meals a day for my lunches, try my best to make it to my nephews varsity basketball games, my list is endless and my schedule is a wreck and..... i am the only person who washes my truck because i care very much how its handled. Just sayin, its got nothing to do with "free time."

OP i apologize, back to hide a key :favorites13:

:waytogo: Your truck, your choice.

I have to park in a lot with :poop:-heads who don't respect other's property.

My mirror smooth sides disappeared about 1 week after I bought the truck.

I use a paint free dent removal product several times a year and buff out the near misses.

So, a doofus with a touch-free carwash isn't going to be worse than the turkeys I work with.
