I don’t want sport bumper anymore

Hey guys i want to do the opposite it seems everyone wants to do. I wanna get rid of the my sport bumper and go with the steel bumper. Now I honestly like the way the steel bumper looks then the plastic sport bumper. Now I would paint the bumper to match the truck just like the sport bumper did. I have a 2011 ram 1500 sport. What all would I need to make the swap? What would all need to be changed or added?

You will need to remove the fiberglass bumper cover and crash guard behind it then replace with the metal bumper and the upper vallance. You will need the bumper mounts and make sure you get the metal bumper with the fog light mounts. I'm pretty sure that's all you will need but I'm sure someone add it of I missed anything.

That doesn’t sound like too much. When I hear people wanting to switch to the sport bumper it seems like it involves a lot of new brackets and supports and a bunch of other things.

As popular as the sports bumpers are I bet you can find someone not only to buy your sports bumper but maybe do the switch for you also. Just a thought

I agree the sport bumper looks like its for 2wd or stock 4wd 1500. I like the fact its painted to match but the more ya do to make the truck look like a 4x4 the more out of place that bumper looks . At lest the gen 3 Offroad pkg on a Sport had tow hooks so it at least looks like they had 4wd in mind when they designed it

Not yet, I’d like to but trying to figure out what brackets and all that I would need to swap from sport bumper to regular 2 piece bumper. I wouldn’t even mind seeing if I’d be able to switch to a 13+ bumper and grill

I am finishing this conversion right now on a 2018 1500. I am in the process of painting the bumper. I realize now i should have posted over here. maybe a moderator can move it? look in general dissuasion for the polock. i think i titled it like 2500 bumper on 1500 the Polock

I so wish you lived 30min from me, had a 13+ and it was white. lol. we could do the swap from my 15 longhorn and that way we`d both have all the brackets/supports/mounts/rebar required. lol

not a day goes by that I don't consider selling my truck or shop around for a sport only because I can't get my head around the chrome bumpers. which is so silly because i really enjoy the interior of my truck and it's so well taken care of with low km.

I'd also loose my factory flares at that point but don't want to start a ruckus mentioning that. some people loooooove them. I think they look out of place.

Find someone that wants what you have and just meet up and swap them over.Then you will have the best of both worlds and maybe make a new friend.

Sorry Badger 13, I skimmed thru this posting to fast not letting it absorb. From what i learned is everything you need you can purchase since your going to the two piece bumper. Im going down a different route. Sorry for the confusion.
