Greetings,

My name is Mark and i am a new member to this forum. I may be trading my 2004 Toyota Camry LE (114k miles) for a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (72k miles). I was wondering if there is anything in particular i should examine on the truck to ensure it is not a lemon. The truck has the 4.7L v8 with an automatic transmission. The owner claims he has two trucks and it sits most of the time. He is the second owner. I am in need of a truck and have never owned a dodge before. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you for your time!

I would check kelly's bluebook for value to determine if it is a good trade or not. Good luck

Sounds like a deal to me, but then again I think any truck is worth more than a car. I hate cars...

Being a bit ****, I like to get as much historic information on a vehicle as possible. Spend the 30 bucks or whatever it is and get a carfax or autocheck, go to a Dodge dealer with the VIN and see what they can pull on it. Do a good visual inspection, and I would have said Dodge dealer or someone very knowledgeable with this type of unit do a prebuy inspection. Also, does he have receipts for anything - any work done, or even just oil changes to show consistancy.

May sound a bit corny, because we all like to think we know it all and how to inspect a vehicle - but its saved my butt in the past on both a vehicle and a boat. Sometimes a second set of eyes can go a long way.

The more definitive info you know, the better the decision that can be made. Good luck, looks like a nice truck.
