I think this is why I like the look of the 2019 Ram

Found a "rumor" last week. As we all know, new CEO at FCA. The order desk for 2018 Ram 2500 "may" stay open until 10/2018. They would normally close in August. Reason? factory orders for 2018's is higher than projected. Both dealer orders and customer build orders are up. Hmmm,,,if true got to wonder why

25-30% off is a great motivator.

People like different things, but I'm with the camp that thinks the big-rig look was good for a while, but time for a change.

The new Rams are completely ugly. why do all manufactures follow each others cues? First thing I hate is the moving of the door emblems up to the hood. Its like try ing to simulate vent holes or such. Secondly its a truck, why is the front bumper lowered so much. With the lower bumper and smaller headlights there is a real flat area of just painted plastic between the two. Raise that bumper up and make the front look like a truck again.

That makes sense, as Mack is owned by Volvo and ram by fiat.....

Both European designs.....

They are now, but back when Dodge started the big rig look was way before fiat. The look started on the Dakota back in 1996-97. However at that time it was still Chrysler. Wasn't until 1998 that they merged with Daimler-Benz even, and the true merger with Fiat wasn't complete until 2014. This is the first major overall of the truck since being part of Fiat and its totally ugly and lacking characteristic, however so are the Chevys and Ford after their remodels. Its very disappointing.

Great marketing by Ram. Convinced me to buy one. I think I see a Ram commercial at least every other day.

I'm 46 years old and personally, I wish they would bring back 8 tracks and cassette players in cars.....and while they're at it, remove navigation so we can all use paper maps, then put the high beam button back on the floor. Then make them weight 1,000,000 lbs again like when truck were TRUCKS and if you hit them, they barely got a dent. I'm not sure what the manufacturer's are thinking with all these changes. Worst than cell phone companies sharing R&D and chasing each others' customers. I modified my seat belt so that I just have a lap belt like my granddad used to have. Then they go remove the antenna from this dang '19.........I miss the huge Army whip antenna that used to be on trucks. I snatched out the satellite radio because the Russians are listening....all I need is AM radio

I'm headed to Goodwill to see if I can find some corduroy bell bottom pants, a super fly collar shirt, a John Travolta suit....the 100% polyester one that doesn't breath, and then a pair of men's heels like Shaft wore in the movie. But I'm not going to drive my truck there, I'm going to walk both ways in the pouring rain.........who needs transportation when we can just walk.

And why am I typing on this computer.......who made this mess when all we need is a 'post it' or rotary phone with that long cord that keeps getting tangled up.

Hopefully, some of you got a laugh. If not....it's cool. I don't take it personal when guys call my truck 'butt ugly' or a 'mess' or 'stupid' or too much 'chrome' or ..............someone said it's not even a 'truck' cuz it's too pretty. So, hopefully you won't take my stab at humor personal.

Thank you RAM for all you've done because I was almost out of my GMC into a King Ranch until someone told me to look at Ram. I replied...." a Dodge....ugggh" And they said....."no, it's not Dodge anymore, it's Ram."

Did some deep searching on the internet last night. 2019 Ram 2500 will not be out until 1/2019. That tells me that the 2018 2500 order desk will NOT close in August. The 2019 and 2020 2500 Ram will be built in the new Warren plant addition. Wonder if they will close the Vin 3 plant. 2019 and 2020 will not follow the 1500 styling. Speculation is, customers want the big rig styling look and RAM is hearing that. Grill, interior features etc from 1500 and some other "interchangeable items" will be used on the 2500 when assembly begins next door to 1500 plant. For those that appreciate the big rig look and find the 2019 1500 less appealing,,,,there is hope.

5thgenrams and AllPar have all the data you need. Come 2019, there will be a 2500 that looks like the DT 1500. Probably will get a 2500 Classic, but come 2021 accept the new look or buy used.

I’m just waiting to see the 2500. Or 3500 maybe when I’m ready

I also pine for the days when my steering column was designed with the secondary job of crushing my sternum in case of front end collision. Though unrelated entirely if I see one more damn kid on my lawn it's postal time! :biggun:

Gen 4 style 1500 will continue to be built at Warren as a 2019 Classic.
