I think this is why I like the look of the 2019 Ram

94 Ram flashback. That's why I bought my first Ram.
Love the squint and style of Limited and Longhorns. I think Ram has maintained big rig styling while looking more modern.
Don't really care for the the larger headlights on every model below them though. I think they should have just committed to one style light and not worry about the previous gen haters by offering a similar looking 4th gen headlight

That makes sense, as Mack is owned by Volvo and ram by fiat.....

Both European designs.....

The big rig styling of the Ram was what set it apart from the competition way back when as Sliknik mentioned.

Thanks for the little bit of history/trivia. I was thinking of reducing some of the chrome, but now i'm going to leave the front as is.

The big rig look on the new Ram is almost gone. From the side profile the hood and fenders almost look to be the same height. From the front it is hardly evident as well. There is a Ram dealer across a 6 lane local street from where I get gas. On the front row of trucks there is a mix of '18's and '19's. You cannot even tell there is any kind of fender drop on the '19's from that distance. The brow doesn't help either as it adds to the very real perception of the hood and fenders being even with each other. On the Laramie and Limited models, all of the bright work really makes the front very GM like, squared off.
Ram really blew it with the front styling of these trucks. They could have done a modern update of the previous 3 gens of trucks. Instead they gave us a very bland look alike truck that is hard to distinguish from anything else. I hope the aftermarket comes out with some fixes for these trucks that embarrass the Ram stylists into a quick refresh of the front of these Rams.
The Ram was unique in its styling. That is gone now.

I pretty much agree with everything. The old ram looked more like the big rigs. The new one looks a lot like a Chevy

I thought I saw a 5th gen Ram on Facebook Marketplace today and wondered why someone was selling already.

Lol you said it, but I was thinking it. Hurrro Ram Tundra... man I sure hope the 5th Gen 2500 has some distinction. Otherwise, I am buying a 14-17.

Last night I saw a '19 Limited in a restaurant parking lot.. The truck was parked at an angle on a slope right by the road. As I approached the truck my 1st thought was it is a GM truck, Then as I got closer I realized what it was by looking at the squinting headlights. The thing that struck me, and I've seen many of these things on a dealer lot near me, was how long the back doors are on the crew cabs. It really looks out of proportion. Plus I think this truck had the 6'4" bed so it was really long.
The extra length added to these cabs was so unnecessary. Since the Quad Cab kept the overall length of the previous gen, it would be nice if they offered that length and cab size on this model.
Right now the quad is the better looking truck, although calling any variant of this truck good looking is really stretching the truth.

Lotta chatter about the additional 4" in total length in the CC. That is a non-starter for many on the forum with tight garage fits today.

Found a "rumor" last week. As we all know, new CEO at FCA. The order desk for 2018 Ram 2500 "may" stay open until 10/2018. They would normally close in August. Reason? factory orders for 2018's is higher than projected. Both dealer orders and customer build orders are up. Hmmm,,,if true got to wonder why

Several weeks ago, in a different post about the 2019 Ram's appearance, someone referred to it as a "Chevundra."
