idle problem

4.7 only does this sometimes but earlier the idle dropped so low it sounded like it was gonna shut off but didnt went back to normal. What can cause this

Was it running fine while in park, but dropped when you put it in gear?

I'm sorry for the delay in my response..... was a little busy. Usually, when you have an idle issue it is because the IAC (idle air control) is either gummed up or dirty, or it's bad and needs to be replaced. Try cleaning it first and if that doesn't cure the problem then replace it. The replacement runs anywhere from $50 to $60 bucks.
