my 02 Cummins only has 72K Miles. About a month ago I started having Issues Shifting Issues. NO Engine lightm but @ 40 MPH the truck couldn't decide what gear it wanted to stay in. Shifted fine, but would up shift and downshift. Was told it COULD BE A GROUND ISSUE. So i checked everything, turns out my Alternator was bad. Replaced, Tested batteries to make sure they weren't bad, checked grounds, and cleaned terminals.. They read good (still a couple years old tho) Problem wasn't fixed. Then found out my Throttle Position Sensor was prob the cause of this. Changed the Sensor. Did the TPS Reset as instructed. Immediately that Problem was fixed. BUT NOW (literally the 1st test drive from replacing The TPS) The engine light came on, Reads GLOW PLUG/HEATER CIRCUT A, & TPS Circut low input. and the Trans is now Shifting @ 2300-2600 RPM from 1st - 2nd gear. Never did that before. and kicks a bIt hard when it does finally shift. Rest of the gears shift fine, no issues with downshifting either, just FROM 1-2nd Gear. and my Original issue with the trans not wanting to pick a gear around 40mph is gone. I'm now lost @ what this could be. ? Any ideas? or anyone that had Similar issue?
